A Leading National Discount Variety Store was struggling with inconsistent connectivity and high costs associated with redundant technologies and IT staff necessary to support complex systems nationwide. With over 7,000 locations and a low fixed product price point, cost reduction and reliability was crucial for any connectivity solution.

Cellular was the natural choice given the rapid deployment capability and minimum hardware requirements. A cellular solution meant no lengthy scheduling lead times and no construction, local cuts, entrance facilities or DMARC extensions were required for installation. Cellular plans also have flexible bandwidth options and lower MRC versus traditional wired circuits.

Trextel was able to provide a comprehensive solution that addressed every one of the customer’s needs. The process began with Trextel providing pre-sales support to fully assess the project needs, which was further supported by a proof of concept pilot.

Trextel provided comprehensive project management services while provisioning alternate SIM/Data plans from multiple carriers for dual carrier support. Devices were staged and configured at one of Trextel’s warehouse locations before being kitting and shipped to each site for installation, testing and turn-up.

As devices were configured, they were logged into IntelliTrex for pro-active Management. Trextel’s IntelliTrex platform provides a patent-pending cellular grading algorithm that reports on multiple levels for a true picture of cellular performance. The platform's AIOps-based proactive remediation provides a series of processes designed to cut through the noise and dramatically reduce the number of alerts to which IT and Help Desk support staff receive. The system is also capable of preventing runaway data plans. The result is increased reliability, reduced costs and reduced workload on IT support staff.
